Formula Student promotes the academic excellence of engineering, because it covers all aspects of automotive industry, including the investigation, design, building, testing, developing, commercializing, administration and finances. This competition allows the students to use their knowledge in a real experience. They are putting this knowledge, that they have been learning for many years, into practice, and also at the same time they are learning from what they are doing.

The teams are used to working under pressure, planning the costs and control various aspects. That is the reason why students have a level of excellence in education and they improve their abilities, knowing what to do in real situations.

One of the main objectives is promote the ability to manage the problems that can appear during the competition.

Engineering students have to design, build and drive a car that will be evaluated for their potential, technological innovations, cost and fuel/electricity consumption.

The vehicle is based on the Global Formula Student Rules. In the course of the competition the teams of Formula Student are evaluated by judges in two ways: theorical and practical.

The teams have to demonstrate their knowledge and their management skills, such as the design, the car construction and also the presentation of a marketing and economic plan.

Formula Student and Formula SAE take place in 10 different countries.
